Recorded with long time collaborator and friend, Skyler Garn in Los Angeles, this song took shape in the middle of the pandemic. What began as a cry into the universe, a scream common among people leaving their early 20s, grazing their mid 20s and god forbid, approaching their 30s: "why am i here?! what does it all mean?!", turned into a twangy, upbeat song with a psychedelic bridge. Recorded from sunset to sunrise, including some radio interference from rush hour traffic on Glendale Blvd below, we hope you will enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed creating.
lyrics
i went out to arizona, tried to get my life in order
amongst all the succulents i saw how my life could have been
on the corner of 85th, there is a man smoking a spliff
he reminds me of the bird guy on the los feliz exit
oh my, will i be circling for my life?
i went up to san francisco, tried to hit it was a miss though
through the hazy yellow sky, i saw a girl she had your eyes
on the corner of 96th there is a bakery you can't miss
yeah, they sell the same old shit with their own unique twist
oh my, will i be circling til i die?
through the forest there's a breeze
will i find a place to be?
in the air or on the ground
i'm happy i'm still around
oh my, will i be circling for life?
oh my, will i be circling til i die?
